Derek Smith spent the better half of the last ten years doing what the majority of young people do. He went to school.
In 2003 he graduated with a B.A. in Communications from the University of Ottawa.
He then proceeded to travel around and find his way back to the city where he has recently graduated from the 2-year Public Relations program at Algonquin College.
It was during an internship with another company that Derek stumbled upon the unique organization that is bv02.
The team at bv02 saw Derek’s communications and public relations skills as an asset and an excellent opportunity to get bv02 seen and heard.
Earlier this year, he became one of the many new faces at their Ottawa office. With his experienced project management and well-crafted skills, Derek adds a refreshing new element to bv02’s future.
Getting organizations noticed and having a presence in the community is a skill Derek has spent years developing. As Ottawa’s e-business leader, bv02 is excited to know their messages are in the capable hands of a communications specialist like Derek.
Derek lives and breathes everything that come in and out of the office. Project knowledge, trouble-shooting, scheduling, invoicing, and making sure the job gets done, are merely a few of his specialties.
