Jarrett Laughlin

Education Consultant

“Things work out best for those who make the best of how things work out.”

John Wooden

Jarrett Laughlin brings a wealth of experience to bv02 as a seasoned Education Consultant. He has worked with organizations like the Canadian Council on Learning and the Assembly of First Nations, honing his skills in identifying innovative and holistic approaches to measuring success in lifelong learning. Drawing on extensive research in learning, assessment and social behaviours, Jarrett has managed projects like Canada’s Composite Learning Index and Redefining How Success is Measured in First Nation, Inuit and Métis Learning.

Jarrett takes a hands-on approach to his work — collaborating with organizations and communities to facilitate workshops for decision-makers, with the aim of increasing success across the country as a whole. His recent passion has involved mobilizing knowledge and research into action through socially innovative and community-based projects.

At bv02, he is a key driver for the Help Me Tell My Story assessment program, partnering with us to develop a holistic approach to assessing oral language development for early learners in Saskatchewan. The program approaches assessment not solely from a classroom context, but also engages parents and the community in the learning process. To immediately evoke change, this new holistic assessment approach leverages technology to provide live assessment data and helpful tools for parents, teachers and Elders that support learning in the home, school, and community.

Jarrett comes from a family of educators and has been formally working in the field for over 15 years. When he isn’t out there changing the world for the better, you can find him enjoying the outdoors with his family and four young children.
