OC Transpo MyTransit App
bv02 created an iPhone app to provide OC Transpo's riders with up-to-the-minute arrival times when and where they need it most: on-the-go via their mobile phone.
OC Transpo provides comprehensive transit services to nearly 385,000 people in Ottawa every day, and strives to find new ways to provide these riders with timely service information. Ottawa’s public transit authority embraced bv02’s recommendation to use mobile technology to accomplish this. The result? Canada’s first Transit-Authority-owned iOS application, offering real-time updates via live GPS data from OC Transpo’s fleet.
Working with a combination of both live and scheduled data, bv02 created an iPhone application to provide riders with up-to-the-minute arrival times when and where they need it most: on-the-go via their mobile phone. The app has been very well received, with thousands of downloads in its first month, and bv02 continues to work with OC Transpo to add new functionality and evaluate application development for other smartphone platforms.
